How to Properly Measure Your Bra Size
There is no doubt about the fact that wearing the right size bra whether is 32a or 36aaa is going to make a difference in the way that you feel in the way that you look. There is some confusion, however, on how to properly measure your bra size. To be honest, it’s not really all that difficult because it only takes a few measurements and some easy math. Here is how to measure and what type of math is necessary for the proper fit.
The first thing that you’re going to need is your band measurement. Use a soft measuring tape and bring it around your back, under the arms and measure under the bust. If you are measuring a half inch, round it up to the next full inch. You should add 4 inches to that measurement to get the band size. For example, if you measured 31 inches, your band size is 35 inches.
The next thing that you need is your bust measurement. Keep the measuring tape in the same position on your back and measure under each arm but do so across the fullest measurement of your bust, typically across the nipples. Make sure that you’re not holding your breath, as that will change the measurement.
Finally, take the band size and subtract it from the bust size. This will give you the measurement that is necessary to determine your cup size. Of course, after you take those measurements, you should also try on a bra and determine if it is the right size according to how it feels and looks (Source: a bra cup size at Lula Lu).
